1 Content questions
1.1 What is Oxford History of Western Music?
The Oxford History of Western Music presents Richard Taruskin’s unmatched narrative account of the evolution of Western classical music online for the very first time. The full text from the five-volume 2009 paperback edition has been reproduced, as have notes, bibliographies, and further readings for each of the 69 chapters. numerous illustrations, and 1,800 musical examples.
1.2 What functionality does the Oxford History of Western Music online offer?
The Oxford History of Western Music was published in paperback in five volumes in 2009; this online version offers the convenience of desktop access to the full text. You can search and browse the complete text for easy navigation. Citations can be automatically exported to ProCite™, Endnote™, Reference Manager™ , RefWorks™ and Zotero™. Additionally, Oxford History of Western Music online features 1,700 editorially chosen deep links to relevant entries in Grove Music Online. For instance, reading about the English composer Henry Purcell in Taruskin’s work, a user with access to Grove Music Online at Oxford Music Online will be able to click through to the Grove article for further information.
1.3 Are all images from the print set included online?
We have made every effort to include all images where copyright allows. The display of images online is subject to a different set of copyright regulations than those that apply to print publication. We have included any illustrations where we own the copyright or which have no copyright restrictions and have also obtained permission to display all or nearly all other images online.
1.4 How often is Oxford History of Western Music online updated?
Oxford University Press will correct any errors brought to our attention on an ongoing basis. Oxford University Press will not, however, maintain an active update schedule.
1.5 How do I submit a comment or correction?

2.2 Is it possible to have a free trial?
Free 30-day trials are available to libraries and institutions considering purchase. 2.3 Are discounts available to consortia and consortia members?

3 Access questions
3.1 I cannot access Oxford History of Western Music online.
Suggestions for Library administrators:
- Please verify that you have submitted your library's signed access agreement to OUP. All new subscriptions require a signed license agreement on file that has been verified prior to activating service.
- Please check that OUP has your library's most current IP address information on file. Administrators can verify account details from Subscriber Services. You will need an administrative login. If you have lost or forgotten your administrative password, please contact us.

3.2 Is remote access available?

4 Technical questions
4.1 With which browsers is the Oxford History of Western Music online compatible?
The site should be accessible to general users using most current and many legacy browsers. Oxford History of Western Music online is specifically tested and designed for correct display and function on the following browsers:

4.4 What are the See Also links at the end of the Table of Contents?
For users that also have access to Grove Music Online at Oxford Music Online, Taruskin’s text is accompanied by editorially selected links to relevant articles in Grove. The selection of links follows the course of Taruskin’s narrative through each era of Western music. Links to Grove Music Online are listed under the See Also headings that are found in the left-hand navigation bar.
For instance, reading about Mozart’s symphonies in Taruskin's work, a user with access to Grove Music Online will be able to click through to the biography of Mozart, an article on the symphony in the 18th century, and an overview of the classical style on Grove Music Online for further information.
5 Customer Services
5.1 How are the Oxford History of Western Music usage reports defined?

5.2 How do I access my institution's statistics?

5.3 Can I add our institutional logo on the Oxford History of Western Music online site?
